CHARLESTON, SC — This fall, TV Watch has been hard at work spreading the word about television’s parental controls with their new tutorial, TV Tools for Parents 101. The tutorial is an easy guide to help parents brush up on the basic information and tools, such as the TV program ratings and the V-Chip, and is available on TV Watch’s website.
As part of their ongoing effort to increase awareness among parents about the importance of making television viewing decisions, TV Watch is reaching out to elected representatives at the local, federal and state level, national and local third party organizations and education groups.
“By enlisting the help of these individuals and organizations in our grassroots effort, a wider group of parents can be reached,” said Jim Dyke, TV Watch Executive Director. “Whether it is providing information at local events or encouraging people to visit the website, discussing this issue ensures parents have a better chance of becoming educated about parental controls and will be empowered to make informed TV viewing decisions.”
